As the days crawled by, people all over the world were getting anxious. Every day, there were less and less materials, and every day, they saw their children die and their elderly forgotten. They tried to be civil, at first. Ramshackle trading posts were established, and people began to barter.
It wasn't enough.
Those trapped in areas with relatively few resources, if any, could only stand by and watch as their neighbors found food, clothes, and water. It wasn't greed that got to them as much as it was the innate desire to survive. Like-minded people branded together, forming gangs and groups that existed for the sole purpose of stealing from the more fortunate. The nations tried to calm their people down, tried to use pretty words and sincere pleas to get them to stop and work together.
Few, if any, countries were successful - and even then, it was only for a short amount of time.
When their own lands had not enough resources to give, people turned to other places. They eyed their international neighbors, no longer protected by a border, and tried to establish trade. Recovery was slow, and people grew agitated. The rich seemed to remain rich, while the poor continued dying.
And so, they invaded.
They took everything they saw and razed the neighboring villages to the ground, now fighting for both supplies and fame... for with fame came fear, and with fear came an easier access to resources.
The nations were forced to divert their attentions to preventing - or perhaps encouraging - war. The fight for survival also became a fight for power, only made worse as the weakest countries began to fall and wither away.
The Current Events section will be used to announce two things: raids and natural disasters. The countries that are involved will be chosen at random, so please be sure to at least glance at it every time you visit. These issues may be dealt however the involved nations feel is the best.
