Yes, you've read correctly. Here at Hetalia Calamity, you can wage wars and conquer other nations.
The option of attacking another nation is always open to players, though there will be times when the people will rise up and decide to attack by themselves. That is something the players have no control over, and announcements of such events happening will be placed in the Current Events box.
In order to attack another nation, you must have the means to do so. This will require a thread/post (in any board that is IC) that details the collection of weaponry and other necessary materials. You must also find the means to organize your people to make this attack. This includes boats, if your target country is a sea away.
Once you have fulfilled the necessary requirements, you must post in the continent that your target country is in. This post must be IC, and describe the beginning of the invasion.
Defending also has similar requirements. This will require a thread/post (in any board that is IC) that details the collection of weaponry and other necessary defensive materials. You must also find the means to organize your people to make this defend, or else they will just run around like headless chickens when an invasion occurs. This includes setting up walls to keep invaders out.
Once you have fulfilled the necessary requirements, you will be able to reply to an invasion post if you are the target. Your post can't conclude the invasion, and instead must detail your character's response to the initial attack.
You must respond to an invasion post within three days, or you will automatically lose.
Additionally, you can also lose if you want to. Just make sure to mention this when you PM England.
You can have allies to help you attack or defend. The same requirements apply to them, however, if they wish to aid you. An ally that has not made a post detailing weapons collections, for example, will not be able to help you unless you give them some of your own weapons. This will, however, increase animosity between your people and theirs, which will increase the chances of raids between you and your ally country.
Do keep in mind, though, that just because you are allies with one nation doesn't mean that that nation can't be allies with another - or that you two will remain allies forever. Alliances will change as relationships change, after all.
First of all, you and your thread partner are allowed to 'fight' for as long as you'd like. Once the two (or three, or four, etc.) would like to reach a conclusion to the fighting, simply PM England, asking for a conclusion. (For example, let's say that Australia and New Zealand went to war. After making their initial posts, they can PM England right away without any more fighting posts required. Alternatively, they can continue the thread and fight it out, even though the end result will really just depend on what happens after you PM England.)
Once you send the PM, England will roll a dice. The player who receives a higher number will be successful - that is, if the invader received a 3 and the defender received a 5, then the invasion will be considered a failure, and the invader will have to retreat.
However! If you have allies, more dice will be rolled for you. It's one dice per person, so if you have an ally fighting alongside you, two dice will be rolled in your favor, and the numbers will be added up accordingly. For example, let's say that it was France vs. Austria and Germany. Only one dice will be rolled for France, while two dice will be rolled (and the numbers added) for Austria & Germany.
Once the results have been decided upon, 'God' will post in your thread with the points. Users are then required to finish up the battle accordingly.
Each invasion will be counted as one battle. You must win a total of three battles in order to conquer another nation.
You are allowed to do whatever you wish to the conquered country, short of killing them. (Please, however, receive permission from the player if you wish to do anything.) Do keep in mind that other countries can invade you to take away your newly acquired land, though.
1. You may not attack a country if the player is on hiatus.
2. You may attack an active country without any warning. The attacked country will have three days to respond, or else the battle will be considered an automatic win.
3. No complaining.
4. Have fun!
